Early this morning, the Earth stood on its end briefly, the Sun beat straight down on the Equator, and Spring began in the northern hemisphere.
We usually celebrate this day by standing a raw egg on its end. Word has it that this, the day of the Vernal Equinox, is one of only two days a year (the other being the autumn equinox) when this feat can be accomplished. If we do that today, I'll take a photo and show you that it can be done.
There are two things that come to mind when I think about the winter of 2007-08: 1) We had snow twice, and 2) Vann learned to love pajamas.
Doesn't he look comfy (and cute)? He still doesn't sleep in them. But now, like me, he looks forward to the moment that darkness falls so he can shed his regular clothes and slither into those soft, warm flannels.
Hope everyone is having a great First Day of Spring. I'm so far behind; why, I haven't even cooked my traditional Irish Pot Roast yet. I think that's what we'll have for Easter dinner, in lieu of the usual ham and potato salad.

That is so cute. I bought my husband Dennis his first pair of pajamas this Christmas too. His have a grey top and a dark plaid bottom. He wore his when he caught this rotten flu that is going around!

Susan, I enjoyed the information you shared about Spring. Very interesting about the egg - I will be awaiting the pictures.
Tell Vann that he looks darling in his pajamas. My husband learned the joys of pajamas a few years ago, and now he makes sure he has comfy ones for warm weather and cold weather.

LOVE that bunny!!! AND those pj pants!! I have a ratty pair of satin ones that have holes in the sides(where pockets might be if they were pockets). I've also got flannel and knit ones but they aren't as comfy as the originals(from Old Navy). I should try and make a pair.
Love the altered card too, and the egg trick and the Easter greetings...
