A Trip To the Toy Store

Fabrics

Yesterday, Vann and I took a ride over to Trussville to Heart to Heart Quilt Shop. I wanted to get there before the month of March was over so I could get my 20% birthday month discount. One of the owners, Terri, was putting together a fat-quarter bundle of wonderful spring colors, and I found another bundle that matched. Aren't they pretty? I came away with 19 beautiful fat quarters at a 20% discount. But, WAIT! That's not all.

Gripper_cropped

Vann can hardly go into a quilt shop without buying me something. And this is what he found for me on this trip: a Gypsy Gripper. I've been wanting one after I saw someone using it at retreat last month. I tried it out this morning, and it works like a charm. Suction cups grip your ruler tightly, and you hold the handle of the gripper while cutting. It really stabilizes the ruler and cuts way down and slipping. Edited 4-13-08: I have no idea what I meant to say at the end of that last sentence, but it makes no sense at all.

Thank you, my sweet husband, for a wonderful toy.  As you know, Quilting Toys R Me!

That fabric is absolutely gorgeous! Definitely my colours!
I have seen ads for that Gypsy Gripper. Sounds like it lives up to its claims. Will have to find one here.

I adore that fabric in the top left corner of the picture. And, the green with the dots.

Oh, you're right. They are all lovely.

I actually sucked in my breath when I saw those fabrics!! Just beautiful!!! Your gripper thing reminded me that I need to get a new ruler, Amy stepped on mine and broke it. I've been kinda handicapped by that because I need to cut out a binding and some TT blocks.

Happy Easter Susan!!
