This morning, Vann pulled me and Sophie out of bed early so that we could take a drive with him up to Oneonta, where he was going to pick up a box for his truck bed. Oneonta is in Blount County, which is just about as country as it gets. It's about a 45-minute drive to the north of us. The area is beautiful, and is called "The Covered Bridge Capital of Alabama," or something like that. I think they have seven covered bridges in the county, or maybe nine. This is one of them, which we didn't cross today, but we have driven across it in the past.
It was a very relaxing trip. We saw horses and cows and goats grazing in the pretty pastures. We had coffee and sausage biscuits at McDonald's in Oneonta. Sophie and I both dozed off in the car on the drive home.
But now we're back home, and the laundry basket is running over. So--gotta get to work.

Susan, that is a wonderful picture. We love covered bridges. Once when we were on a trip we followed signs for a covered bridge for miles. We ended up way out in the country in the woods, but we found it. And, it was wonderful. Of course, I took lots of pictures, too.
It sounds like you had a pleasant trip together. Thanks for sharing.

Lovely drive. And I have to admit, McDonald's sausage biscuits are a guilty pleasure of mine. But don't tell anyone.
