I have looked all morning for a photo of Doris. I know I have better ones, but this is the only one I could find. This one is probably the most appropriate anyway. It shows Doris helping a young girl with her quilting at a children's program our quilters guild held a few years ago. Doris was always helping people, young and old.
Doris went home to be with our Lord yesterday morning. We'll miss her so much. She was such a beautiful and gentle person--and an extremely talented quilter.
I know Doris is all right now. She was so positive about the possibility of not getting over her cancer. She was grateful for the wonderful life she had had and was ready to go if God was ready to take her. She even cleaned up her sewing room and got rid of a lot of stuff so that her husband and kids wouldn't have to deal it.
I'm blessed for having known this beautiful Christian woman. Thank you for her friendship, God. I just hope you have a nice sewing room all set up for her in Heaven so that she can continue making her lovely quilts.

Oh Susan,
I am sure the Lord is in need of Doris to help repair the angels wings and even His own flowing robe. Who better to advise Him on the beautiful colors of the sunset, but a quilter who has loved the colors of fabric her entire life? Who better, than Doris, to help swaddle the wee ones who arrive in need of tender care....
Sympathy to all of you have been her friend...and blessings to her family as well.
