Broken Dishes

Table_boxWhile we were drinking our coffee and watching "The Today Show" this morning, Sophie ran to the window and commenced to have a loud barking fit. Vann went out to the driveway and there was the DHL lady cringing in her truck, afraid to get out and face our vicious dog (eyes rolling). After some assurance from Vann that Sophie would not eat her, she opened the door of the truck and gave Vann this big box. Guess what was in it.
MY TABLE!!!! My beautiful pie crust table that Penny at Lavender Hill Studio made into a beautiful mosaic work of art for me.Table_1

Is this not the most beautiful thing you've ever seen? It's exactly as I imagined it would be (only better) when I asked Penny to do it for me.Table_pc

Table_before This was an old table that I've had for decades. Actually I got it with S&H Green Stamps, so if you're old enough to remember them, then you know how old the table is.

It wasn't in perfect shape; in fact a piece of it fell off on it's journey up to Penny's studio. But Penny fixed that and you can't even tell where it broke.

Penny, I can't thank you enough for your beautiful work. Your talent is amazing.

Oh my gosh, Susan, that is incredible! To think that Penny created that gorgeous table from an old S&H Green Stamps redemption!!! I am definitely old enough to remember S&H. My mom got a crib from saving those stamps back in the early 60's!
