From the Bedroom

BedNot much happening today at The Yellow House, so I thought I would just show you some pics of my bedroom.

I change out the linens, covers, pillows, and wall hanging from time to time. Here's the latest. The quilt behind the bed is one of my favorites. It's called "The Gathering," and it appeared on the March/April 2001 cover of For the Love of Quilting. This quilt is full bed size.

The next one is a wallhanging displayed over the chest of drawers in our bedroom. The center panel with tulips was made using a Cynthia England pattern. There are about 1,347,509,738 pieces in the tulip panel. Some of them turn out so small after the seams are sewn that you can hardly see them. A few pieces disappear entirely. Cynthia conducted a workshop for my guild several years ago. While we loved her beautiful quilts and her charming sense of humor, most of us agreed that making one Cynthia England quilt was all we could handle.

The LeMoyne Stars that make up the outside border were made using a technique taught at a guild workshop by Sharon Craig (who apparently doesn't have a webside). Sharon has taught several workshops and given lectures for our guild. She's one of our favorites.Tulips

I hope all my blogging friends are having a good weekend. The temperatures have moderated here, and the high should be near 60 today. But since it's Groundhog Dog and I hear Old Mr. G.H. saw his shadow, the cold weather is sure to return for another blast before Spring is here.
