Anita at Take Joy has bestowed the "E for Excellence" award on Blackberry Creek. Thanks, Anita, and right back at you, girl! I love visiting Take Joy and seeing the photos of new baby goats, fine chickens, beautiful grandchildren, and all the great fabric and paper art that Anita creates. If you haven't discovered Anita's blog, I suggest you hop over there right now.
I'm supposed to pass this award on to 10 other bloggers. You're all excellent in my book, but here's my Pick 10.
Molly, aka Dark Oak Woman, is a young wife and mother of three. She might also be considered a zoo keeper as her home is filled with lots of furry friends: dogs, cats, and guinea pigs. Maybe other species too; I'm not sure. This young Christian woman loves to cook, read, collect stuff, and do needlecrafts.
Georgina is a young Argentinean woman living in Madrid, Spain. The best word I can think of to describe El Blog de Georgina is "Pretty." She does such lovely needlework, including embroidery, cross-stitch, and quilting. Georgina teaches quilting classes and takes care of her three little doggies. She frequently takes her readers on visual tours of European shops. Georgina writes in Spanish, but she has a Babel Fish button, so you can translate if you like.
Nicole at Sister's Choice Quilts can make a quilt faster than I can brush my teeth. And her quilts are beautiful. Go visit her. You'll want to stay a while, enjoying her pretty patchwork and gazing into the big sweet eyes of her doggy Ozzie. Nicole often takes us on visual tours of shops, restaurants, and other sites around her coastal California home.
Creations by Melinda is another feast for the eyes if you're a quilter--or even if you aren't. Melinda is a longarm quilter and quilting teacher near Atlanta. She also works at one of the local quilt shops. She often treats her readers to photos of her own beautiful quilts as well as those of students and quilting friends. If you're a quilt lover, I suggest a visit right away.
Penny at Lavender Hill Studios already has so many blog awards, I don't know where she'll put this one. Go visit her, and you'll see why this talented artist has garnered so much recognition. Her mosaic art on all kinds of objects from furniture to lamps to mirrors to birdhouses, will blow you away. I love her work so much that I talked her into mosaicing (is that a word?) an old pie crust table for me, which she has now. I can't wait to see it and show it to you all.
My sister Joanne at Sourwood Mountain (aka Sister) is an artist, poet, quilter, and all-around smart person. She's also a book-lover. She'll show you photos of her creations if you'll stop in for a visit. You might also see photos of her kitties, her family, and old people who have died recently. And every now and then, she'll sneak in a picture of Elvis (Joanne loves Elvis!).
Mountain Musings is a weblog written by Deb and her family who live in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. They love cooking, quilting, knitting, reading, and most of all, the Lord. A visit to this blog will nourish your soul (and also your tummy if you try some of their recipes). Right now, I have my eyes on that Sweet Potato Salad recipe that Hannah posted today.
Red Geranium Cottage, owned and operated by Sharon, is a fun place to visit. Sharon is not only a talented quilter, cook, and crafter, she's funny. You'll love reading about the misadventures of her and her hubby, whom she sometimes calls Hunka. I think I saw himself all wrapped up in a gorgeous quilt at RGC this morning. Or was that sweet doggy Madeline. Oh well, go see for yourself.
Judy Scott of Kinross Scotland is a mixed medium and textile artist. She is also the the mother of three and wife of Jim, whom she calls "the best man in the whole wide world." While I beg to differ with Judy on that score (we all know that designation goes to my own Darling), I do think she has one of the best blogs in the whole wide world. You'll find her art enchanting and her use of color soothing. Hop on over and have a look. Did I lie?
Rabbit Hill is the home of a wonderful textile artist named Toni. Toni creates hooked rugs, quilts, knitted sweaters, crocheted hats, and myriad other beautiful items. She's also a talented decorator and loves visiting yard sales and flea markets. Aside from all this, Toni is also one of the sweetest people I know. Stop in and pay her a visit. You won't be sorry.
Now I could go on and on. But then the bed wouldn't get made, the laundry wouldn't get done, Sophie wouldn't get to go outside (since Vann is off doing guy stuff with his friend Bill), and I'd remain in my pajamas for the rest of the day. So I best sign off and go tend to details. Y'all go visit these bloggers now. I mean it. I didn't sit here all morning meticulously creating html code for nothing. You're in for some real treats. When you've finished, just go to the sidebar on the right of my blog. You'll find a list called "Blog Hoppin'." On that list, you'll find many more excellent bloggers to visit. And thanks again, Anita, for the honor.

Aww Gee! I'm glad you think my blog is excellent! It is such a fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants endeavor that I *know* could be better if I'd take more time! I'm passing on the award to some blogs that are not in my blogroll, you'll love them!
