What a dark, grey day yesterday was. Sophie and I went outside to do a little squirrel-treeing and I snapped this shot of the sun trying to come out. But it got even darker and greyer after that.
Today, though, the sun is out, the birds are singing, the dogs are barking, and it's just a beautiful day. Daisy is here for a visit while her mom goes to North Carolina. The three of us took a long walk this morning. Daisy was on her leash, Sophie was free-range as usual. But Soph stayed close and Daisy kept up, and it was a good walk.
The weather people are talking about snow again. We're forecast to get 1-3 inches of it tomorrow. I'll believe it when I see it. But I think I will make up another pot of soup--just in case.
Still working in the sewing room. I've made quite a bit of progress, but I'm not quite ready for show-'n'-tell yet.
Below is a shot I snapped of Sophie keeping an eye on the squirrel she had just treed.

That black and grey tree silhouette is lovely. I often think I like bare trees better than summer ones, but in summer I change my mind...

I love the pictures you are taking. You are becoming a professional. I want some of that corn and chicken chowder.

If Sophie is as tenacious as Riley, you will be hard-pressed to drag her away from being riveted on that squirrel. There is a cat in the neighborhood that likes to walk the fence between our house and the next. If Riley sees it he will fly off his perch, awakened from his nap into heightened awareness, all senses sharp, and will yelp and yowl like he is seriously hurt (even bringing dad running). And, long after Kitty has blithely walked away, he will sit there, fixed on that spot, waiting for her to return.
