Our local tv meteorologists have been uttering the "S" word for the past couple of days. They say it tentatively and with plenty of qualifications and ifs, ands, and buts--but still, they're uttering it. They say maybe Wednesday night or Thursday morning or Friday or sometime we might see some of the white stuff. Some of them call it a "wintry mix" (which sounds more like fruits and nuts than precipitation), but I heard at least one weatherman come right out and say "SNOW." I have plenty of milk and bread, so I says let 'er snow!
And even if no snow falls on Alabama this week, we are sure to be in for some very cold weather. So I have my nest all feathered--i.e., my big chair and ottoman, my fleece blanket, and my current reading material. What better thing can you think of to do during cold weather than stay inside all bundled up with a good book? Make a pot of soup maybe. I'll probably do that too.
I've made a start at cleaning up my sewing room. I removed the dining room table extension leaves that someone had put in there during the holidays. Maybe that doesn't sound like much; but I'll do more. I just had to take a break. It's scary in there.
Yesterday we attended my Aunt Evelyn and Uncle Chester's 60th Wedding Anniversary party.
They aren't really my aunt and uncle; they are actually my first husband's aunt and uncle. But they've never kicked me out of the family so I still think of them and refer to them as aunt and uncle. They're two phenomenal people with tons of energy even though they're pushing 80 now. They do more work for our church than most of the rest of us put together. They're what we in the South refer to as "Good People."
I'm going back to that sewing room now. If you don't hear from me in a couple of days, please send out a search party.

They told us to expect 1-3 inches here yesterday. We got a light dusting, after all. But you'd have thought it was the storm of the century for all the empty shelves at the grocery store!
Congratulations to Evelyn and Chester! Heck, in this day and age, 6 years is saying something, let alone 60!
