Christmas is finally coming together at our house. As you can see, the all-important stockings are now hung. Come on, Santa Baby. Fill those socks with lots of love.
The house is also finally coming back together. Our Cleaning Sisters, Linda and Louise, came yesterday. Now everything is all squeaky clean and smells good. I think they enjoyed vacuuming the new carpet with the new vacuum cleaner that Vann bought. I know for sure that I enjoyed letting them vacuum it.
The Cleaning Sisters brought a goody basket for me and Vance (that's what they call him, we don't know why) and a stuffed elf for Sophie (whom they call "he"). Linda has been cleaning for us for about three years. She has a bunch of sisters, and each one has partnered with her at one time or another. Louise has been coming for about six months.
I must tell you that I didn't make those gorgeous knitted stockings. When I was a craft editor for Oxmoor House, I was in the right place at the right time many times for wonderful model and prop sales. That's where I got them.
Neither did I make these little Santa fellows. Another case of RPRT (right place, right time). I bid for and won them one year at the annual Holiday Auction held by our Castalia Literary Club, a local women's club here in Leeds.
Gotta go. My cup is empty, and I just heard Vann and Sophie returning downstairs from their morning walk. I'll drink my second cup of coffee and talk to Vann while he tries to read the paper and Sophie lounges on the back of the big chair. See, here she is.
