Down for the Count

Wii_boxingVann, Amy, Phillip, and I accepted an invitation to share Christmas dinner with Gene and Maria and their family last night. Sophie had a chance to visit with two of her doggie buddies, Lacey and Misty, and we all enjoyed a delicious holilday meal and each other's company.

That's me Wii boxing with Nikki, Gene and Maria's granddaughter. She KO'ed me in the first round.

Vann, Phillip, and Amy left early this morning for south Georgia to visit with Vann's folks. They kindly allowed me to beg off the trip this time so I could rest up from all the recent festivities. For that, I thank them kindly.

I awoke this morning thinking thank goodness it's over, then I got up and took a look at my house. Paper, bags, boxes, gifts, decorations, cookies, candy strewn everywhere. I really wanted to just crawl back in bed, but I brewed a pot of coffee instead.

And what is it about banana nut bread? Is this the new fruit cake? I have little loaves and big loaves of the stuff all over the kitchen. Good thing we like banana nut bread (unlike fruit cake).

I hope all of you had a happy, safe, and well fed Christmas. In closing, I give you this link to Anita's blog. John Buchanan expresses my sentiments about the Christmas aftermath very well.

Wow, it looks like you had fun! You know I did, with my new toy. Thanks for paying me a visit. (And I honestly think it takes as much time to clean up after Christmas as it does to get ready for it!)
