Only 12 more days till the Christmas banners are scheduled to be hung in the church. Here's the so-far progress on the first one. (You see, I have been working.)
I find I have to go fabric shopping. I have been through every piece of fabric--every yard, half yard, fat quarter, scrap, everything--in my embarrassingly humongous stash, and I find nothing appropriate to make the manger that will appear below the star. Not only do I not have time to go fabric shopping, fabric shopping is a dangerous activity for me (as you know). I'm likely to come back with fabric that has no bearing on these banners. Likely, heck! It's a sure bet!

Seriously, at first I thought I was looking at stained glass! Susan, that is absolutely breathtaking. Beautiful, inspirational, thought provoking and evocative of every magical, spiritual aspect of Christmas.

Fabric shopping can be dangerous for me too. I love fabrics. I am sure you will find something. xoxo Nita

You have been working really hard! It's a beautiful stained glass Susan.
Buying extra fabric we don't need is something we all do. Today I went to buy a zipper and came home without the zipper but so happy with my gorgeous new fabrics ...;-)

Your banner is lovely! I wish you lived closeby ~ I'd invite you over to look over my stash for a manger fabric! Be sure to show us the finished project. I also like your Give Thanks quilt. Have fun shopping for fabric.

Yup, you could shop here too. I have enough to share for 10 quilters.

Oh, Susan! That is absolutely STUNNING! You MADE that? I misunderstood at first, thinking you were GIVEN the banner to EMBELLISH! You are INCREDIBLY talented! Far as I'm concerned, you deserve every trip you could ever MAKE to fabric stores! If I could do something like this, I'd NEVER feel guilty for buying fabric!

This is stunning! I absolutely love it. I'm going to show it to Becky, who owns the quilt shop where I work. She will flip!
