Blessed Sunday

BannerThis morning was the first time I've seen the "Give Thanks" banner hanging in the church narthex. We missed church last week.

I have exactly two weeks from today to get the Christmas banners done. I'm working, but progress seems to be way too slow.

I feel so stiff, sore, and tired during this days of changing weather conditions that all I want to do is nest on the couch and read a book or watch a movie. But I know I have to keep hustling; Seeing the new banners hanging behind the choir will make it all worthwhile.

Shoeboxes This was collection day at our church for the shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. This is only a small part of the boxes we collected. This year our goal was 300; I think we made it. Vann, Sophie, and I filled three boxes.

Vann and I had lunch at El Chokador (as Lori calls it--it's really El Cazador) after church. We had grilled shrimp. Sooooo good. When we got home, my daughter Andy was here. Vann just left with Bill to spend the night at hunting camp for their work day tomorrow. After a brief visit with Andy, I'll get back into the sewing room to work on the banners.

Good, good luck on the banners.
I love the Operation ShoeBox...ya'll are doing a wonderful thing.
I do know just what you are talking about as to wanting to lie on the couch and read, tv, or nap. I find that I like to have a day a week to do just that...I don't always get one but most of the time both hubby and I do work it in. We're retired now and stay busier than when we worked...lol

Hi and thanks much for your sweet comments on my blog. I, too, love blue and yellow together...somehow, tho, I got started on a different color combo and it seems to have spread all over my house. I keep looking for a spot for my blue and yellow friend...I'll find one, I'm sure...
Have a lovely day...

The banner came out wonderfully. I remember you were a little worried about getting it done, so you must feel really great to see it hanging.
Hey, did you find any good clearance items at your CVS?

The banner is lovely! I hope you send photos of the Christmas banners as well. Your church sanctuary is beautiful. Is it an historic landmark?

I was so impressed with your church's involvement in Operation Shoebox. I love getting involved with service projects so I'll have to look into this one. :-)
