Take Time to Smell the Roses and Ride the 4-Wheeler

Rose

We went back to Dr. Woods today for a second ultrasound. Sophie was so good; she didn't act up, cry, or try to get away for the almost hour that it took to do the scan. We were in the room with her, and Vann petted her and talked to her all through the procedure. And although she was a very good girl, she was soooo ready to go home once they let her up. On the way out, she shoplifted a pig ear from a display rack. I guess she figured after going through all that, she deserved something.

Dr. Wood thinks she might have a small blockage in one of the veins in her abdomen. Other than that, everything looked fine. Dr. Rachel is going to let us know about putting her on another medication for the blockage.

Dr. Rachel called today and told Vann that her red blood cell count is up to 29! And there's good evidence, in the form of baby red cells, that Sophie's bone marrow is generating red blood cells.

Since she was so good today, Vann treated her to two 4-wheeler rides already. And who knows? There might even be a third one before the day is done. She seems to be feeling better today and breathing better too.

I want to continue to thank everyone who sends good wishes and prayers our way for our sweet Sophie. They're working.

Lori got a call this morning that her daughter-in-law is going in to have labor induced on Thursday. So Lori will be on her way to Houston in the morning. We're going to have a baby! Miss Lillian Grace. Daisy will be an aunt.

I'm so glad Sophie is doing better! I love the baby's name. That was my grandmother's name.I've always thought it was so pretty.
