There aren't many days this nearly perfect. The sky is so blue, the air is dry and lazy. It's the kind of day where you start out yard-saling in corduroy pants and a sweater--then quickly discard the sweater and wish you'd worn shorts.
I just couldn't stay indoors this morning, so while Vann went with Gene to a hunting show in Birmingham, I decided to check out the yard sales. The new Genesis Church, which bought the old Terry Walker Country Club site just down the lane from my house, was holding what they billed as a "Mega Yard Sale." That's where I found the old locket and the piggy napkin rings. That's also where the geese (photo above) were sunning on the former golf course.
I hit several more sales all up and down Hwy. 119. Probably could have found more on the other side of town, but I'd had enough and came home to see Daisy, who is visiting this weekend, and Sophie, who is being her pain-in-the-butt self.
Here are photos of my finds today.
Colorful candlesticks, pastel ice cream bowls, pink piggy napkin rings--aren't they all fun?
A beautiful book about Mary by Mark Lowry and a pretty old locket.

Those bowls are lovely, I have to find out where do we have have stuff like that here in Madrid. In Brazil I used to go every Saturday to an Antique bazar. What they had weren't always antiques , actually only a few were antiques...;-)) and it was a good excuse to bring home a new coffee cup and saucer for my collection. Enjoy your new treasures!!!

Saturday here in Virginia was absolutely gorgeous, too. I went on a garden tour this afternoon - a perfect way to enjoy the day! Love your treasures, Susan!
