Just Kill Me Now

Just_kill_me_nowI do not know this fellow. He came to me via an e-mail forwarded by a friend. The e-mail was about a bunch of animals dressed up in costumes--you might have seen it. I just felt so sorry for this guy. Doesn't he look like just the saddest thing, completely humiliated, frustrated, and pissed off?

I feel a bit like that today. Oh, nobody has made me wear big old tacky bunny ears or anything, but my body feels like it has been ten rounds with Muhammed Ali, back in the days when he was flying like a butterfly and stinging like a bee. Don't know if it's the season changing, the activity on Wednesday, or if it's just time for a super flare.

I am not doing what I should be doing today, which is sewing. I did put a load of laundry in the washer, but now I'm dreading the movements it will take to get the wet laundry out, into the dryer, and folded and put away. Am I a wreck or what?????

OK, enough with the self-pity. Let me tell you that I did manage to get into the sewing room for a while yesterday. Didn't get much done for knocking stuff over and losing stuff and getting frustrated. Didn't work much on the banners except to cut some strips. But I did get these two quilt blocks sewn for my guild's Block of the Month for October. The pattern is called Shuffled Stars. It's pretty easy once you figure out what you're doing. Star_blocks The idea is to cut apart two 10" squares of fabric (one stacked atop the other) in a prescribed order, move the background pieces of the top block to the bottom, then stitch them back together and trim them to 8 1/2" to form two star blocks. The sewing back together is a little tricky, and I don't think my fabrics are contrasty enough, but there they are anyway.

If anybody's interested, I'll post the pattern instructions.

Oh, sweetie, I wish I could be there to help you! I hope you feel better soon. Just take it easy...order pizza tonight, okay? Or Chinese?

Some dogs aren't happy about costumes, but I swear to you my dog LOVES them. He's insane. He goes completely ballistic when he sees new clothes. Which is why my daughter gets away with dressing him up like a lobster or a pineapple.

That doggie does look pissed off--lol--poor dear.

I have three small dogs shih-tzu and they never wear customes, only the girls use small bows to hold their hair. Buy once, when they were leaving the pet shop were they have the weekly bath it was raining, and they gave me the dogs with yellow raincoats. They were so cute!!!
I like the stars, they have pink fabrics!
Hope you feel much better now Susan, stay at home and do nothing. You'll feel great tomorrow morning. ;-)

You should see my star blocks. Have made 3 sets
and the one that shows the best contrast is
the one that the fabric isn't right. Oh well
it was fun. See you at guild.

So sorry to hear your "stuff" flared up. I hope it stops hurting soon. Poor dog, he looks so forlorn.

I have been wanting to make that star block for the longest time! I love the way yours turned out. That poor pooch does indeed look miserable.

I think your fabrics contrast beautifully. Ugh, I hope you are feeling better soon. I bet it is the change of seasons. I have arthritis as a side effect from a seperate illness and it flares every time the seasons change. Maybe we should become meterologists!
