SuSu and I know that PopPop is a devoted "Blackberry Creek" reader. So we decided to leave him a "Happy Father's Day" message here. We also gave him a "Cars" dvd, an "Ocean's 12" dvd, and a Cars card that goes "VROOM, VROOM, vroomvroomvroomvroomvroom, VROOM!" when you open it. He loved them. SuSu is also taking him out to lunch. They won't let me go. It's probably because I wouldn't come this morning when PopPop called me. I was in my squirrel woods out behind the house. I had a bushy tail treed and it was just not the right time to for PopPop to call me. He finally had to start up the 4-wheeler engine, and then I came running--at which point, he popped me on the butt. I've been under the dining table pouting ever since. But I love him anyway. Happy Father's Day, PopPop. You're the best. And thanks especially for helping Dr. Rachel get me well. Love, Sophie.

Soph,
Your blog this morning is SO "you"!! Now you'd think that PopPop would understand when YOU are "busy", you are just that- BUSY, doing "you know what". As in "Don't
bother me til I'm done, please!!"
Well, Soph, "we" are only humans, after all. No one will ever be as smart as you.
Don't forget, I'm writing your name in on
the election ballot next fall. "Sophie
Cleveland, Leeds, AL."

Sophie, you look a lot like Greta, an all-black Schnauzer who stays with us sometimes. Greta is a little pistol, and a real trouble-maker. She likes to get the next-door-dogs barking, and then she jumps around in a circle begging for a treat. She says, "Woo woo woo!" And she rolls over.
Do you like to run away? Greta does. They have to watch her every minute. She will put her nose to the ground and just take off, following her nose. She doesn't hear anybody calling her because she's in her own little world.
Not me. I am too sophisticated for such antics. If my people forgot and left me outside, I'd sit by the door and wait for them to notice I was missing. Good dog.
