I just received the email message below from Typepad.

So now I have a month to learn how to export and export 18 years worth of information somewhere else.
As Scarlett would say, I can't think about this now. I'll think about it tomorrow. I have been up most of the night with digestive issues. Very sick. It seems to be getting better now, but not better enough to think about technology. I'm going to bed and read.

Well, bother, bummer, and damn! You need to recruit your grandson or other computer savvy youngster to do this transfer for you. I'd be lost without our sons for computer stuff and I don't even have a blog.
Sorry for the GI issues and hope you are well over it today. Meanwhile, Lipton noodle soup, hot tea, and toast help me and might help you.
Hugs!

Hi Susan, yes....unfortunately I received the same letter! We have 20 years worth of posts dating back to our start in 2005. I completely lost my mojo and had stopped blogging back in Nov 2024 but continued to pay Typepad for this year so I could still have all my blog posts. Well, I guess the decision by Typepad to shutdown helped me to delve into how to save those years worth of memories!
ReplyDeleteFor the past week I, at first copied and pasted EVERY blog post along with comments, into a Word document. That was very time consuming. Then my daughter and husband found that we could save to a PDF file, which I'm doing. I've gone backwards in time and am now at 2012-09 and continuing on as fast as I can before Sept 30 to try and get to 2005.
Out of the blue today I thought of any other Typepad people I knew. You were the only one to come to mind (since everybody and his brother have stopped blogging!!), so I went searching for you and found your blogspot account that you've switched everything over to. Good for you!!! If I had still been blogging, I probably would have done the same thing. Good to know you're still there. I don't check in all the time, but I still do occasionally, so it was good to find you here.
