This is the cake Sister Ramey made for our book club meeting last week. It was not only a gorgeous cake but a tasty one as well: Strawberry icing, chocolate cake, and chocolate filling. We discussed the book Odyssey of a Wandering Mind by Jennifer Horne, an Alabama writer. You won't find it listed in my Books Read list. I read very little of it because, sad to say, I found it boring--and very long--and very small type.
Daughter Andy brought her new rescue kitty Daryl, my latest Grandkitty to visit with us last weekend. He was very well behaved and loving.
Taco did not approve the visit and was not well behaved. He fussed at Daryl and threatened to whip him the entire time. Of course, Taco has never whipped anybody in his life. His meow was a lot worse than his bite.
Well, much of my stress has been alleviated. My taxes are done, and yesterday I took all my quilts to Angela to be quilted. Sister Ramey went with me to deliver the quilts. And while Angela and I were discussing the quilting, Ramey visited with Angela's flock of beautiful fluffy chickens. She took some photos, but I haven't seen them yet. If and when I do, I'll post.
All right, I have a ton of laundry to catch up on. So ta ta for now.

So happy to see this post and well done in getting your taxes finished and the quilts to your wonderful quilter!! Relief!!
Today would have been my parent's 81st anniversary, having married at her parents' home in 1943.and tomorrow my baby boy will be 40! Yikes!
Fatigue has allowed my sewing fall by the wayside, as we're busy preparing our home and DS2's home for DS1's arrival next month. He'll be here to work long distance as he looks for a house to buy!
