Where do I even start? It has been almost two weeks since I blogged and and almost a week since I have sewed a stitch. I have spent plenty of time on the couch, watching movies and reading. In fact, I think my spot on the couch has developed a permanent crease.
I have no excuse for any of this except that being on my feet is so painful that I do only what has to be done and little else. In fact, I don't think I even do all of what in the past I would have considered necessary. I usually cook once a day, wash the dishes and keep the laundry done, more or less.
I've seen a herd off doctors, had every medication and treatment known to man except hypnotism, sweat lodges, acupuncture, marijuana, and grave-yard dirt (or is that for casting curses?). I would be up for the trying marijuana, but it's illegal here and I'm terrified of being imprisoned for toking. I've done physical therapy, water therapy, massage, chiropractor. I've spent tons of money on creams, lotions, braces, TENS units, pain patches, anti-inflammatory pills, and I've probably forgot the rest.
I have about come to realize that there's no help for my pain and that I just have to accept that fact and adjust my life accordingly--stop trying to do the things I can't do and stop feeling guilty about it.
Well that's enough whining for now. I'm going to work on getting my "Books Read in 2024" list posted in the left sidebar.

0h, sweetie, I am so very sorry to read of your misery and unwelcome limitations.
There is a wonderful book titled "Rx for Quilters" by Dr. Susan Mech, C&T Publishing, 2000 that has medically sensible suggestions for continuing to sew by making specific changes to your sewing set-up and lighting, etc. There may be an updated version of this book but hope you can find and consult a copy of it.
You may also need to change your kitchen to make it useful as you sit. We have a bar stool that I sit on to cut veggies and such.
Wishing you WELL.
Hugs!

I'm so sorry, I would try the acupuncture if you can. It helped my daughter-in-law so much that her doctor asked for the name and phone number of the acupuncturist.
