It's Just So Easy to Sit Here

I have got to find inspiration to get me off my butt and get me working on something. It hurts so much to get up, stand, walk, move my arms. It's so much easier to talk myself into sitting here and reading a book or watching a movie. But I'm just wasting time. And I don't want to waste time.

I did get started on the baby quilt for my friend. I got all the squares laid out on the design wall, but that's as far as it has gone. And I have to get my dollhouse quilt to Angela for quilting. It has to be ready by June Something for the quilt show.

I know if I keep diddling around until hot weather gets here, it will be even harder to get my body to move. I need a good talking to.

SunsetThis is a photo that Jesse took earlier this month when he and his friend were at the beach. I think it's awesome. He should do more photography.

So sorry for your misery that keeps you from comfortably doing the many things you enjoy and hope some Naprosyn or other medicine will allow you the comfortable freedom to be creative.

I do a little, sit and read a lot, or turn on a machine and let it was clothes or dishes and I sit some more.

If I lived closer to you, I'd bring over some lemonade and that wonderful Angel Food/crushed pineapple cake that mixes in a flash (foamy batter) and bakes in 30 minutes. Yum!

April Kitty

April Cat

My 8th Kitty Cup Block is done. I think I'm going to put this project aside for just a while so that I can make a baby quilt for some friends who have just had their second child, a little boy. I made their first baby, a little girl, a quilt. I wouldn't want the little fellow to feel left out. I plan to get started on it tomorrow.

What a sweet April kitty block! You chose such perfect fabrics, too.

Hope you're making progress on the baby boy quilt and are having fun with the happy fabrics you've selected. I had such fun last year making a Rail Fence quilt for a baby girl.

March Kitty

March Block

I finished the March Calendar Kitty today while Hope cleaned the house. I got the April kitty cut out and the head sewn. Maybe I can finish him tomorrow.

Where do I even start? It has been almost two weeks since I blogged and and almost a week since I have sewed a stitch. I have spent plenty of time on the couch, watching movies and reading. In fact, I think my spot on the couch has developed a permanent crease.

I have no excuse for any of this except that being on my feet is so painful that I do only what has to be done and little else. In fact, I don't think I even do all of what in the past I would have considered necessary. I usually cook once a day, wash the dishes and keep the laundry done, more or less.

I've seen a herd off doctors, had every medication and treatment known to man except hypnotism, sweat lodges, acupuncture, marijuana, and grave-yard dirt (or is that for casting curses?). I would be up for the trying marijuana, but it's illegal here and I'm terrified of being imprisoned for toking. I've done physical therapy, water therapy, massage, chiropractor. I've spent tons of money on creams, lotions, braces, TENS units, pain patches, anti-inflammatory pills, and I've probably forgot the rest.

I have about come to realize that there's no help for my pain and that I just have to accept that fact and adjust my life accordingly--stop trying to do the things I can't do and stop feeling guilty about it.

Well that's enough whining for now. I'm going to work on getting my "Books Read in 2024" list posted in the left sidebar.

0h, sweetie, I am so very sorry to read of your misery and unwelcome limitations.

There is a wonderful book titled "Rx for Quilters" by Dr. Susan Mech, C&T Publishing, 2000 that has medically sensible suggestions for continuing to sew by making specific changes to your sewing set-up and lighting, etc. There may be an updated version of this book but hope you can find and consult a copy of it.

You may also need to change your kitchen to make it useful as you sit. We have a bar stool that I sit on to cut veggies and such.

Wishing you WELL.

Hugs!

I'm so sorry, I would try the acupuncture if you can. It helped my daughter-in-law so much that her doctor asked for the name and phone number of the acupuncturist.
