So happy that October has finally come around again. If there were such a place as Octoberland where it is always bright shining Autumn, I think I would move there.
I worked a lot on my chicken quilt last week. I'm either 2/3 of the way finished or 1/2 finished, depending on whether I decide to add a fourth row or stop as three. If I do four, I have to make three more chicken blocks.
I got pretty bored with chickens around the end of the week and sewed a couple of little kitten-in-teacup blocks for a calendar quilt: 12 kittens, one for each month of the year. September and October are done. I haven't photographed them yet. Will do so soon and show here.
I had a great weekend (not counting the pain). On Saturday night, I watched Ole Miss beat LSU and Bama put down Mississippi State. Bama and Ole Miss are the only two football teams I really follow: Bama for obvious reasons, and Ole Miss because Lane Kiffin, their coach, is, after Nick Saban, my favorite coach. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that when Coach Saban ever decides to retired, Lane comes to Bama as head coach. He was with us for several years as offensive coordinator. (Enough about football, Taco says.)
The other thing that took place over the weekend was church yesterday. It was a great service, celebrating World Communion Sunday, then snacks later (more like a meal) in the fellowship hall. I made my breakfast casserole, which I haven't made for years. I think it was a success. I got lot of compliments and questions, and there was only a wee bit left in the dish to take home. I had that for breakfast this morning.
Happy Autumn, everyone. Rabbit, rabbit, rabbit--a day late..

Love your chicken quilt and look forward to seeing what you choose to do to grow it in one or both directions.
I look forward to seeing your kittens in cups, too.
Well done in your sewing accomplishments! May I follow your good example.
Hugs!
