Independence Eve

Monday Cropped - 1
I spent much of the day in the sewing room. I got my back really hurting. (Anybody know a good sewing chair for someone who has serious back issues?)

I have all the blocks made for the Halloween mystery quilt. I'm trying to decide if I really like the front door to the castle with all the creatures. I haven't fused the jacks, the ghost, and the bat on yet until I decide. I'm thinking some kind of black front door with maybe just the jack-o-lanterns on the step. I'm going to sleep on it.

We've had some really good thunder showers the past few afternoons and evenings. The high temperatures have dropped from those high 90s with heat indexes in the triple digits of last week. We're expecting highs in the 80s for the next few days. Hurray!

Wishing everyone a fun and safe 4th. And please keep the furbies inside and give them lots of cuddles if the fireworks bother them. So many dogs and cats run away and are lost during the fireworks seasons.

Love your Halloween project and I agree about too many creatures in the front door area. Seems to me that bat could fly around the towers and the ghost float from an upper window. I like your thought about a front door and steps. You do such marvelous applique!

Sorry about your back discomfort and have no suggestion about a chair. Didn't drivers and secretaries have a lumbar pillow to lean back on?

It's hot and humid here, too.

Hugs!
