Not Blanche

Back - 1

I finally got the name banner and the backing for the baby qult finished today. I'll be taking it to Lena to quilt in the next few days.

As you can see, her name will be Blakely. When I invited guesses when there were only a few letters, I wondered if somebody would guess Blanche--and somebody did: Barbara. The E doesn't show up too well in the photo, I see. It shows much better in the actually backing.

Jesse and I are purging and reorganizing the entire upstairs. Jesse's doing all the lifting, stooping, bending, etc. There's a small room adjacent to our guest bedroom that has always served as storage. Over the years it has come to look like a scene from "Hoarders"--minus the rotten food and rat pee. Jesse is cleaning it out, throwing away a bunch of junk and moving what needs to be kept to the basement. I'm going to use the room for fabric and quilting supply storage. Jesse is going to take the big sewing room as his bedroom, I'm moving the sewing room to the guest bedroom, and we're moving the guest bedroom to Jesse's current bedroom. I'm taking the guest room because the small room where all my fabric and supplies will be stored is adjacent. It's a big job, and Jesse's shooting for the end of the month to have it complete. We'll see.

I feel the Ghost of Christmas Present breathing down my neck. I have done hardly any Christmas shopping, hardly any decorating. But we do have a tree up--thanks to Andy and Jesse.

Lovely Christmas tree (and angel topper), lovely tree skirt, and lovely table topper!! A festive view, indeed. :)
Wishing you and Jesse well in your room swap and clearing endeavor. Good luck in finishing by the end of the month, too.
Applause, applause for finishing Blakely's baby quilt! Did you add the bear's eyes? Hope so.

Hugs!

You and Jesse are doing what I need to. Or my daughter and/or my sister. Or someone not emotionally involved. Your tree is so pretty. I have a ceramic tree this year… not an antique, but it has lights! Hope you and your folks have a Merry Christmas!
