Dogs in the White House

Major_biden_111120POTUS, FLOTUS, DOGUS ONE, and DOGUS TWO

There's a lot to be glad about having this nice, normal, American couple in the White House. And one of the best things is that they bring with them dogs. First Dogs Champ and Major moved into their new home this week. (Note: Major [left in photo] is the first rescue dog to ever live in the White House.}

I've always loved following the doings of the White House doggies. I think my very favorite was Barnie Bush, President George W. and Laura Bush's buddy. I remember when they would strap on the Barnie-Cam and Barnie would take viewers on tours of the White House.

The Obama's had those beautiful Portuguese water dogs, Bo and Sunny. President Obama had promised the girls, Sasha and Malia, that they could get a dog if he was elected President. Bo came first. Then a while later, his sister Sunny moved in.

There have been other First Dogs, of course. But these are the ones that stand out in my memory. It's good, very good, to know we again have good dogs to warm and guard our White House

Love the photos and the dogs! They are the 1st Dogs I remember, too.

Wish all of those in Congress had a dog's honorable characteristics

Hugs!

Thanks for posting these photos and commentary. And I love Barbara Anne's "wish" comment! Well said. Our re-careered Guide Dogs, Annie and Coconut, are our soulmates. Non-judgmental devotion (especially at suppertime) even when we are hollering at the television with our Jeopardy answers!
Be well and carry on! Keep the book reviews/suggestions coming!
