Santa’s Workshop Revving Up
Today I worked on a Christmas gift for my writer/paleontologist daughter Cait (she never reads my blog, so I think it’s ok to post this). Ever since Cait was a little kid, she has loved dinosaurs. Now when she isn’t writing novels and short stories, she works preparing fossils for a local museum. So I thought a quilted wall hanging featuring a fearsome stegosaurus would make a neat Christmas gift. She can hang it in her office.
I didn’t fire up the sewing machine even once, but I did get a lot of cutting done. This little piece requires a LOT of cutting. I got all the background pieces and the dark-skin pieces cut out and labeled before my back cried “uncle.” Tomorrow I hope to get the rest of the cutting done.

Stellar idea and it couldn't be more perfect for Cait! DS1 loved dinosaurs as a small child and I turned a dinosaur print hand towel into a hot water bottle cover for him all those years ago as he had lots of ear aches back then. He went from that to a fascination with bones.
Enjoy the process and rest when you need to!
Hugs!
