Progress

B:w

I made it to the May meeting of my quilting bee yesterday. It was at Sally’s house, and she lives just a little way down the road from me, so I even made it on time. I had camera trouble, the trouble being that I didn’t take my camera again and had to rely on my cell phone, which refuses to give me a decent photo. The one above is the only one that is even close to in focus. The others I took are blurry as heck. Martha made this lovely black-and-white masterpiece.

Yesterday afternoon and today, I made quite a bit of progress in getting my quilts ready for the show. I created the last label, one for “Happy Holiday.” I sewed the binding onto the front of “Witch Hunt,” and created the binging and sewed it to the front of “Bow Wow Bunch.” So now the tasks that remain are: Sew down binding to back of both those quilts, sew on all labels, create and sew on hanging sleeves for all six quilts, label pillow cases that will hold the six quilts. In addition, “Gypsy” will be coming back from Lena in a couple of weeks, and it will have to be bound. I’m considering making the binding and taking it to Lena to sew onto the back. She will do that, and as June is creeping up on me, it might be worth the fee to have her do it.

I’m really really tired now, so I think it’s time to settle in on the couch with Skipper and do some reading.

By the way, sister Joanne is out of the hospital and doing fine. Anything and everything serious was ruled out.

Martha's quilt is a delight - Z&L would love it as it's "their colors". Z reminds me that black is the presence of every color so I should love it. :)

Applause and well done on getting all the labels made for your show quilt, two of the bindings made and sewn on, and having the stellar idea of having your quilter sew the binding on Gypsy!!

For your consideration, something called a "flange binding" is sewn on completely by machine.

Glad you got to your bee to enjoy the eye candy, friends, and food.

Hugs!
