Happy Samhain

Halloween - 1

Cait and Kathryn spent much of the weekend with us. On Saturday evening, we enjoyed Rusty’s BBQ, fried okra, and other fixings. Cait and Kathryn carved a Jack-o-lantern. I found him on the front porch after they left on Sunday. I’m not sure if they forgot him or meant to leave him here. I'm just going to enjoy him while he’s here. It has been years since I carved a pumpkin. It used to be a favorite thing to do. Now it’s just easier to rely on my terra cotta Jacks.

Looking forward to this week. Y’all know I love Halloween. Andy, Cait, and Kathryn are joining us that evening for chili night. Skipper is looking forward to keeping up a cacophony barking at the trick-or-treaters.

I intend to spend the rest of the week watching scary movies, mysteries, and thrillers and reading haunted books. Maybe I’ll even get back up to the sewing room to finish the Halloween quilt. But for today, sadly, I have to go to the grocery store.

Below are some more of the Yellow House greeters for the trick-or-treaters.
