Almost Finished

Border

I have to join the border blocks and then join them to the quilt top, and the Christmas Tree quilt will be ready for quilting. Jesse came into the sewing room just now and looked at it and asked, "Is that going to be our Christmas tree this year?" And I'll tell you truth: If it was quilted, it just might be. I am not looking forward to putting up a tree, a very difficult task with a bad back.

The top will turn out to be 80" x 90", much larger than I expected. Actually, when I ordered the pattern, I guess I wasn't paying attention because I thought I was ordering a pattern for a wall hanging. It will be plenty big enough for a queen-size bed, which both Jesse and I have. So I guess it will end up being a holiday season bed quilt for one of us.

Rainy day here, and I'm hearing the "S" word from some of our forecasters for later in the week. Just flurries, but still pretty unusual for this time of year.

Back to the sewing machine while Anna cleans downstairs.

Well done!

I suggest you make your white chicken chili or order pizza and invite the family over to help put up your tree and ... perhaps ... decorate it. 2nd party after Christmas to help put it all away. Wink, wink!

Hugs!

I’m not putting up a tree this year. Daughter Amy said don’t. So for 2018 I’m “planning” some “Christmas fiber” pieces for decorations. Love the tree. I’d like a wall hanging size of that, or a pencil tree. I’ve started looking. Take care! I’ve overdone some major housecleaning & my knees are crying for help!
