We Gathered Together

TreeeMy Christmas Tree is growing.

'Twas a wonderful Thanksgiving that was had at The Yellow House. Both sisters and one nephew joined daughter Andy, grandson Jesse, and I in a feast o'plenty. I followed through on my plan to have most of the meal catered. I made the chicken and dressing as well as a delicious broccoli salad, so the workload was quite manageable. Besides for the great catered dishes, Ramey brought her delicious corn casserole, and Joanne and Jed brought carrot cake. Aside for the tons of leftovers still in the refrigerator that guilt prevents me from tossing, everything went well indeed.

So now that one holiday is over, it's back to the sewing room. I've worked all morning on the Christmas Tree Quilt. I have a couple more rows to piece, rows to join, and then I'll be ready to make the candy cane border. I'm thinking I might have it done in time to show at my guild's Christmas brunch meeting in a couple of weeks, if, as my daddy used to say, I don't hit a snag.

I think I've spent all the time at the sewing machine that my back will allow. So for that reason, and because Skipper insists, I'm going downstairs and do a little hand applique until to start dinner.
