Second row of Morning Start is complete and joined. Five rows to go.
All plumbing and sprinkler problems have been taken care of, thanks to my smart and persistent grandson, Jesse. No major tragedies have occurred around here for the past day and a half. I'm tickled.
After not being in the sewing room for more a week, this morning, while Anna was cleaning, I got the second row of Jesse's quilt done. I'm loving it more and more. I hope it isn't turning out to be too feminine. He saw the first row and liked it. But, as I said, if he doesn't approve, I'll happily use it on my bed and make him another.
Yesterday, I watched the movie "Manchester By the Sea," for which Casey Afflect won a Best Actor Oscar on Sunday night. I have to say that I was a might disappointed. It was slow and draggy and without a plot. And even confusing in a lot of places. Maybe I had my expectations too high. I love movies and stories that take place in and around Boston ("Mystic River," "Good Will Hunting," "The Departed," "Shutter Island," etc.). But this one just didn't measure up. It seemed as if the moviemakers couldn't decided if they wanted to tell a straight-forward story or make an avante-garde, experimental type film.
Anna is almost finished, and Skipper is bugging me to come downstairs with him, so I guess sewing is over for the day.

This new quilt is looking good! Have you taken care to choose more masculine blues? It may not be too late to swap some of the squares if need be. Of course, you may have a secret hankering for this wonderful quilt ...! :)
Hugs!

I watched Manchester By the Sea for the second time a few days ago, and I was more impressed that time around. I could forget about the foul language, and the storyline itself, and just watch Casey Afflect portraying a man who, while making his way in the world the best he knows how, is truly broken inside. If you see it that way, his performance was transcendent.
