I knew this wasn't a good day to sew. I should have listened to my body. I'm super tired, listless, weak, shaky--I have no grasp in my hands and fingers. I got up early when Jesse came in from his night shift and made breakfast for both of us; but then I went back to bed--something I never ever do. I slept until 10:30. That in itself should have told me to stay away from the sewing machine. But I didn't listen to that little voice. And this is the result.
I absolutely mutilated one of the brown owl's feet, even sewing a pleat into the fabric. But after I pulled out those stitches and took a deep breath, I started again and finished stitching Brown Owl. The stitches aren't perfect, but I think they'll do--a lot better than the ones in the above photo. But no more for today.
Yesterday was a good day though. I attended an old-fashioned hymn-singing service at Leeds Presbyterian Church and enjoyed it a lot. We sang a couple dozen old-fashioned hymns, like "In the Garden," "Whispering Hope," "I'll Fly Away," "At the Cross," and more. My kind of of hymn-singing. Afterwards we met in the fellowship hall for snacks and visiting. Lots of fun. That might be what wore me out. I sang with all my heart, even though my voice would certainly win no Grammys.
It's a gray and rainy day here at The Yellow House, so I think I'll take myself to the couch and read for the rest of the afternoon. Or take a nap maybe.

Do take good care of yourself, sweetie. It's a bummer to have to lose a day or part of a day but that's the way it is for us sometimes. Don't kick yourself about the unsewing either as it comes with the territory and you've finished the brown owl's feet so that's a plus.
As for the singing yesterday, those hymns are favorites of mine, too. Remember, we're told to make a joyful noise, not a good one!
I'm going to throw some laundry in the washer, finish one other task, then sit myself down to read until something interrupts me.
Hugs!
