A Treasure From the Mailman

FarmGirlVintagebyLoriHoltofBeeinmyBonnetISE906Shane always rings my doorbell when he has something for me that's too big for the mailbox. So when the doorbell rang this morning, I knew either Jesse or I was in for a treat. IT WAS ME! My Farm Girl Vintage book, from quilt designer and blogger Lori Holt, came! And it's even more wonderful than I expected. I have been sitting on the couch, drinking coffee and going through the pages over and over.

Book1

Book2

Then I came up to the sewing room and dug out these fabrics that I purchased years ago, I don't even remember when or where, but I knew they were going to be the base for this quilt. I'll add some others to the bunch, specifically some polka dots and checks that I know I have. I'm also going to expand the color way, add some greens and yellows for sure. I'm already thinking I'll call my quilt "Country Life Sampler," but that could change.

Fabric

Oh, I can't wait to get started!

It's so much fun, the beginning of a project like this. I can't wait to follow your progress. If I didn't have so many UFOs, I'd be tempted to join you!

The Evening Star Quilt Guild is doing this for their 2015-2016 challenge. The blocks are such fun. Need to have a very accurate 1/4" seam!

What beautiful fabrics. Can't wait to see the quilt when it's done!

What a great book and I love the spiral binding that lets it lay flat. If I didn't own more than 100 quilt books and more quilting magazines, I'd be tempted by this one.

Your chosen fabrics are perfect and why wouldn't they be? You have always had a talent for picking out just the right fabrics for each of your projects. No doubt the greens, yellows, and ... whatever will be perfect, too.

I got the binding sewn onto my Santa quilt today and my shoulders are screaming. BenGay (or something else) here I come.

Hugs!

I think I have that book. Its a shame when you can't remember whether you do or not without going digging.

Trying to comment on your later post and can't get it to go through. Won't accept my email address and won't accept it without it. Hmmmm.......
