A sure sign that autumn is coming, at least in these parts, is the appearance of hundreds of Little Yellow Butterflies fluttering about. I have been seeing them all week, every time I leave the house. I have no idea what his real name is. We have always just called him "The Little Yellow Butterfly." My daddy used to say, "When you see the Little Yellow Butterfly crossing the road, you know autumn is coming."
And a welcome sight that little fellow has been this week. As I've said many times, autumn is my very favorite season. I just wish it lasted longer.
It's still plenty hot and humid. We've had lots of rain this week, and it feels like a Turkish bath outside. But summer's days are numbered.

Lovely photo! I'd not heard that about yellow butterflies, but they're here, too. The forecast rains missed us completely so that was a bummer.
Today is cooler, lower humidity, and really breezy so will soon hop in the car for a quick trip to the library. Back home, it will be lunch, then sewing the second two sides of the next to last border on the Santa quilt and I hope to cut the outer border before my spoons are gone. You know how that can go ...
Hugs!

There haven't been many butterflies of any type here this summer. There also haven't been many fireflies, which is really unusual. No fuzzy caterpillars, no squirrels looking for nuts to bury, the leaves haven't even started to change yet. It is just humid constantly, which I cannot tolerate. It messes with my arthritis, which, in full circle, messes with the old fibro monster. I'm hoping Autumn will be less humid.
