Keeping On Keeping On

Marthastraight
Martha shows one of her recent projects at the first meeting of the new year of the Piecemakers Quilting Bee.

I'm feeling some better this morning painwise. I think being off my feet much of the past week has helped.

I did manage two fun meetings though. Monday, I attended my quilting bee's meeting and Thursday, I went to book club where we discussed The Martain by Andy Weir. If you like a really and truly exciting read, you might check this one out on Amazon and see if it interests you. I loved it.

Aside from those two meetings and the cooking of a couple of meals, I haven't done much this week except read books and watch back episodes of "Sons of Anarchy." But today, I must go to the grocery store. I'm going to wear my back brace and try to make a quick trip of it. Jesse is here to carry up the bags. So maybe if I make it quick, my back pain will stay manageable till I can get back to the couch.

For those of you who follow my book reviews (left sidebar), I'm adding a couple that I finished this week while off my feet. Next on my to-be-read list is The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon. It's next month's selection to be discussed at book club. Sounds like a good one.

I''m hoping I'll be able to get back to stitching dog blocks for the dog house quilt this coming week. If I'm gentle on my back and the pain stays minimal, maybe my hope will come true.

Happy Pink Saturday, Susan. I hope the rest continues to allow your pain to be more manageable. Keep on keeping on.♥

I have been in a reading mood, too, but unfortunately, it seems other things have been consuming my time. I have many reads waiting on my Kindle for me.

You know I always love your quilting, and I enjoy your shares from quilting groups, too.

Love Martha's new quilt and I appreciate your sharing the photo. Cheers that you felt good enough to go to both your quilting bee's meeting and the book club meeting. What good boosts to your sprirt during this very cold week!

Count me in with those who are staying cozy with books. I'm again reading the Susan Wittig Albert "Cottage" books as they're such a delight during the holidays because they involve little mysteries, animals who talk amongst themselves and to any human who is tuned in. This 8 book series is set in the Lake District in England starting in 1905 and are loosely based on the life of Beatrix Potter. Next up is Kate Morton's "The Secret Keeper".

I hope your week of taking it easy allows you to do the sewing you want to do.

Hugs!

Back pain is one of the worst ever. May you soon by back and quilting. I love quilts and seeing what others create. I enjoy reading, but have not done so in a few months.

Hello Susan, I noticed you posted for PS and it has been way too long since I have visited you. I have neglected my blog so much this past year.

I am so sorry to read about your back pain. I hope and pray healing will come soon. Rest and reading is just what you should do.

Your friend's quilt is very pretty. I know you are missing your quilting projects. They will wait fr you.

Stay warm and rest.
xo. Jeanne
