The second dog block was quicker and easier to put together--and it turned out to be almost exactly the same size as the first one. So either the Buggy Barn instructions are wrong about the size, or more likely, my seams are a little bit wider than the Buggy Barn seams. Any-hoo, I think I all my blocks just might turn out to be nearly the same size so that I can trim them all the same and adjust the setting pieces accordingly.
Some of you have asked after my Sophie. She's still on her medications, but I can't see any appreciable difference in her condition. She still refuses to put weight on her left hind leg--although she gets around just fine without it. (Well, except for hopping up into her sleeping chair. I still have to lift her for that. But she can go up and down stairs ok.) I guess she has learned from Skipper. The reason his name is Skipper is that ever since he came to live with us, when he runs he skips, holding up sometimes his left hind leg and sometimes his right hind leg. At first, I thought something was wrong with him. But it turned out that, no, he's just a Skipper.

Cheerrs that Dog 2 is similarly sized to Dog 1!! You're on your way to a darling quilt, no doubt!
I remember a dear quilting friend who fussy cut various dog fabrics to use the dog squares as the center for Log Cabin blocks and she named the quilt "Dog Cabin". :)
Am glad Sophie is managing as well as possible with her aching joint. Would a low footstool assist her into her sleeping chair so you wouldn't have to lift her?
Stay cozy!
Hugs!

I love the dog blocks. I assume the "bones" are to be appliqued? Hope Sophie gets better soon. Give her a hug for me.

Yep, bones, muzzles, nose, and spots are appliqué. I'll use fusible and machine stitching for these.
