Me with my mimosa and book in hand, ready for discussion (Ramey caught me just when I blinked, That's why my eyes are closed, not because I had too many mimosas.)
The Ramey Book Club (we don't have a real name, but half of the members are Rameys, so it fits) met at my house on Thursday for lunch and discussion of Carroll Dale Short's wonderful novel The Shining, Shining Path. Dale is an Alabama fellow and a wonderful writer. If you're looking for something interesting, exciting, and very well written, click on the link to the novel and have a look.
Any kind of meeting at my house necessarily includes dogs...
*All photos by Ramey Channell (my other sister).
That's why there's no picture of her.
I am totally exhausted from all this week's activities, and my back pain is acting up big-time. But the laundry awaits. Or maybe that should be: The laundry won't wait. (I have a ton of it.)
I have finished quilting the little album quilt and will attempt to get it bound while I do the laundry.
I wish for all a wonderful weekend.

Great picture of you, eyes mid-blink notwithstanding!
Love the photos of your home, family, and friends, too! Of course, the 4-legged kidlets are part of the fun. More hands to be petted by and more laps - what could be better?!
Okay, remember my multi-tasking protocol? Load in the washer, load in the dryer, nap! Add to that you might want to consider taking something for your back pain before you nap.
Wishing you well, my friend.
Hugs!

Love your blog, book clubs are great, enhanced by mimosas no less. My West Coast brother, a writer all his life, and myself, have had discussions about Southern writers, where did they all go. Discussion prompted a while back by the book, The Help. My son, the attorney, was always interested in books, attended a symposium at Ole Miss some years ago on writers of the South. Glad to know they are not gone away, at least some who are interested are meeting at your house. Hope you can keep the fibro wolves at bay and stay comfortable.
