Rainy Days and Snowmen

After a hot and very dry summer, we finally got some needed rain this week. The past two days have brought drenching showers. And more is forecast for the next few days.

I can hear the sun worshippers groaning and pouting,.,but I love the rain--and so do my rose bushes.

Concerning my French snowball quilt, I can see the light at the end of that quilting tunnel. But I got totally bored with it and had to go to something more fun. So I started piecing a snowman quilt that I hope to have finished by January to hang in the foyer. I'm using a pattern below to make it. I am really going to try to get back to the French snowball quilt soon, though, and finish it. I only have to attach three or four more rows, and it will be ready for Lena to quilt.

Below are a few versions of the snowman quilt I found online. I have all my squares cut out for the quilt portion. It's proving a fun quilt to make. I don't believe I'll get bored with it.

What a charming Snowman quilt and I can see it will be fun to make, too. I like the top photo you found on-line and prefer the random placement of squares and the dark blue border to the 2nd picture with the organized fabric placement or photo 3 with the lighter border. Are those two of your chosen fabrics in the photo with the pattern?

This is certainly a good time of year to work on winter/Christmas projects.

Please send some of that wonderful rain this way if you can. Thanks!

Hugs!
