Still Alive

I just noticed that it has been a week since I blogged. I have had a pretty bad week, not only painwise but also with the fatigue and weakness that come along with this condition.

I forced myself to get ready (even put on makeup) and attend quilters guild yesterday. It was a good meeting with great show-and-tell and an interesting speaker.I left there and went by Wally to pick up some needed supplies. By the time I got home, I was ready to be laid out for viewing.

I felt a little better this morning. So after I dropped Sophie off at the groomer's, I decided I would plant the pretty clematis vine that I bought a couple of weeks ago. That experience has taught me that my gardening/yard work days are good and over. I got the thing in the ground, more or less, but what an ordeal. It is very hard to dig a hole and plant a flower when one can neither stoop nor bend. I decided sitting on the ground was the only way I was going to accomplish the task. And of course, I sat square in a fire ant bed. Good thing, too. I don't think I could have ever got back on my feet had it not been for the ants to spur me on.

With my last shreds of energy I dragged the hose to the spot and gave the poor thing a good watering. We'll see if it lives. I wouldn't blame it if it doesn't.

I have photos from guild meeting, but I just don't feel like climbing the stairs to the Big Mac to download them. I'll do it tomorrow. For now, I'm going to lie here and vegetate till Sharon calls me to come pick up Sophie.

I couldn't help but laugh when you said you were ready to be laid out for viewing!!! And to top that off you sat in a fire ant bed??? Oh, Susan, what a day you had. But I'm glad you haven't lost your sense of humor through it all. sometimes we just have to laugh to keep from crying. Praying for you my friend.

Bless your heart and all of your other parts! What a bummer to be so fatigued and aching but you know I understand completely.

You are a stellar writer whether you write a book or not. What a great word picture "laid out for viewing" is and I had to laugh about the fire ants and your quick rise from ground level.

Is there a ground floor area where some computer or the Mac could go so it's available without your climbing stairs?

Thanks for writing as I was just about to send out the search dogs for you.

Big hugs!

Yes...gardening days, as we knew it, are over. I have a stool and a riding lawn mower with a trailer, and this helps me get around the yard.
Other then being knocked out with pain med, I have not found any RX that completely stops the pain. Good days and rough days. Our new life style I guess.

We can still see, touch, eat, and smell. Something to say about that!! Hugs, Sharon

Planting your vine reminds me how I've planted my little seed sprouts in various places, and nearly all of them have disappeared. So sorry for your "laid-out" troubles--it's just not fair! I'm all in favor of moving your computer and other equipment downstairs. Love you!

Bummer. Been wondering how you were doing. It stinks when you can't just use that shovel like you used to, huh? Time to indoctrinate Jesse into the gardening world at times. Hope you feel better soon.

Fire ants! What is that saying...'look before you leap'? Maybe re-word it to ...'before you sit.' Clematis are pretty hardy, altho sometimes they sulk --just like a certain grandchild I know. lol Seems like you are about due for a good week. Let it come on thundering hooves!
