May Day

Only halfway done, and already this week has been a trial. Two days of stormy weather had my pain level off the charts. It's better now; but, of course, after that much pain comes heavy fatigue.

We had no storm damage in my immediate area, but communities to the north got hit with tornadoes.

Yesterday I was trying to chop down a big dead rose bush, and I stepped with both feet into a fire ant bed and didn't realize I had until my feet were on fire. I left my clippings where they lay for Steve to move when he comes to cut the grass. I guess the stormy weather has him behind schedule. He was supposed to be here yesterday.

I decided to go chemical free with the lawn, so I stopped the lawn service. My lawn has had no chemicals on it for several months now--and the weeds are knee high. It's a little embarrassing, but I see that many of my neighbors' lawns are also weedy. So I think I'm going to stay with no chemicals--at least until someone gets up a petition to have me removed from the neighborhood.

Jesse got his first credit card yesterday. I'm glad he waited until he was mature enough to use it responsibly before he got one.

I have to grocery shop today. And you know how I feel about that.

Happy May Day, everyone.

Happy May Day to you too, Susan. Hope you're feeling better today. Just don't overdo! Hate those fire ants. We have several mounds in our yard since all the rain we've had lately. One would think that if we can put a man on the moon surely somebody could come up with a way to get rid of these boogers without using dynamite!!! Hope your day is a good one.

Happy May Day from me to you, too!! Love the cute picture. :)

We had 4.5" of rain in April and most of that was in the last week and it had our joints yelling at us, too. Bummer about that and glub, glub! Did you see that Pensacola, FL got 24" of rain yesterday? Mercy!

Have you ever dumped a pound of cornmeal on a fire ant mound (not before rain is due)? We were told to do that when we had fire ants in TX and it killed them with one application. It seems they eat the cornmeal and it swells up inside them and they die. Not a bad chemical-free plan, either.

Wishing you well.

Hugs!
