After a tedious start to the weekend (a broken water heater),things got decidedly better yesterday afternoon as we gathered at my sister Ramey's house to celebrate my niece India's birthday. We enjoyed a delicious hamburger lunch, followed by a rousing chorus of "Happy Birthday" before India blew out her candles. After we had all consumed as much cake and ice cream as we could manage, India tackled a great pile of gifts, accompanied by some funny birthday cards. It was a great afternoon.
However, the water heater is still broken. I've had pans under it all weekend, catching the drip and requiring frequent trips to the basement at all hours to empty the pans.
The plumber finally arrived this morning, took one look, and declared he was on his way to pick up a new water heater. He promised to return tomorrow afternoon to install it. So I will get to enjoy another day of emptying water-drip pans.

Happy Birthday to India!! What a glorious party she had and I can imagine the fun and yummy foods. I hope the year ahead holds wonderful, delightful, and dream-come-true blessings for her.
Ah, the miseries of defunct water heaters. I hear you. Late last week we dealt with the joys of a toilet that suddenly quit flushing and the repair parts and uncomfortable positions its installation required. Ouch!
Good pacemaker check for AMIL this morning so that's a plus. Her 2nd sleep study is Wed. night and this time they'll try her with a C-pap. Do pray!

Could you put a hose on the HWH and run outside to drain it completely or into a tub/sink? That is one of those chores we are told to do annually to help preserve the tank. Do I do it? NO ;-D
