I got tired of old lady wire frames, so this time I chose a pair of glasses that, if they were turquoise or red, would be right at home on the face of Penelope Garcia, the genius and hip BAU computer hacker on "Criminal Minds.". I thought about both red and the turquoise, but in the end, I settled for a more conservative dark burgundy. Next time, I'm going full Baby Girl.
Tomorrow afternoon, I go for my epidural pain block. I've got really high hopes for the success of this procedure. Please join me in hoping high. A bit of pain relief would be nothing but welcome.
I got hardly any sleep last night. The pain and wiggling animals made for a situation very non-conducive to snoozing. (I know I should ban the animals from my bedroom at night, so don't tell me. I just don't have the heart to do it.) I finally dozed off sometime way in the night. Then, just before dawn, I as awakened by a super loud thunderstorm. Nothing severe, just a good old summer thunderstorm, which I love.
And now, for your viewing, I present the next pictorial episode of Quiltfest 2013. And there are more to come in the days ahead. At least two or three more posts, maybe more.
And some of the best are yet to come.

Susan, your new glasses look like you're up with the times! Very nice. My husband just got new darker frames, too. I'm still in my old lady wire rims, but I have an appt this summer. Not sure I can make the switch, but I'll see what's available.
Hope the pain block does its job!

LOVE the glasses!!! You put me to shame! Mine are SO old school. LOL! But, then again, I guess THAT applies to the whole of me! OLD SCHOOL & for that matter, just plain OLD! I've been sighing over all the quilts throughout the week! They amaze & delight me! And quilts, like any other art form, are so diverse. They range from story telling to making a statement to just plain GORGEOUS.

I have red glasses! Thanks for sharing the quilts! I have dogs too. If I was an American Indian, my Indian name would be "Woman Who Sleeps With Dogs". I have one that is deathly afraid of storms and we had one last night so I was up too. Thanks again!
Cheery wave from

Your new glasses are jazzy and hip! My oldish glasses that I still wear are purple wire frames.
This afternoon you'll certainly be in my prayers. I share your high hopes for the longterm success of this procedure. Hope Jesse or Andy will stay with you tonight as there may be some restrictions on what you can do.
Love the quilts, the dazzling colors, and amazing creativity that abounds in your guild. How could we have not yet seen the best?? The quilts you've shown us are glorious.
Hugs!

More good stuff. Glad you got the new frames. I'd have like to have bright colors with my recent change, but they didn't have any that were for sunglasses. Bummer. Anyway, you look smashing, my dear, simply smashing.

What is the pattern of the little girls a block for each month of the year that is in red and white? It is delightful. Love the glasses.
