Laura's Dollhouse Report

Our dollhouse quiltalong member Laura has really been busy on her blocks. Just look at these.

Front door

"Here is the front door area" writes Laura. "Still have to tack down the skate straps and add the white begonias to the plant by the door after the whole quilt is done. The movie 'Mary Poppins' came out when I was in elementary school. We all went to see it as a class field trip. You may recognize the Mary Poppins-like umbrella we kids gave my Grannie for Christmas."

Two stories sewn together
And here's a look at Laura's first two stories, along with some front lawn, sewn together. Isn't this just the most charming quilt you've ever seen. Or at least up there at the top. I am on absolute tenterhooks waiting to see a photo of Laura's fully completed dollhouse. I know it's going to be a prize winner.

I've been at work making more granny quilt squares today. I'm still waiting for the doctor's office to call about my MRI. If I haven't heard by Monday, I'll call them back. The situation with my knee is no better.

Jesse has gone with his friend Joe to North Alabama to a buggy ride. That's Jesse's hobby, his dune buggy. He works on it constantly and rides when he has a chance and some extra money to fill its gas tank, which takes very expensive racing fuel. Below are a couple of photos that Jesse took.

Buggy2

They have a beautiful day for a ride. Sunny, clear, and a little windy. I hope they have a great ride and return safely.

What utterly charming doll house blocks Laura has created! Her many delightful touches from the Mary Popping parrot head umbrella in the umbrella stand on the front porch to the many other special additions in the interior rooms we've seen. Applause, applause!!!

Hope Jesse and his friend had a wonderful time and good weather for their trip. We had sunshine and 71*F Saturday and our first thunderstorm in the evening.

I'm sorry to hear your knee is no better. Wishing you WELL!

Hugs!
