Bee-u-tiful Handiwork

There was quite a variety in this morning's show-and-tell at our monthly bee meeting at Mary U.'s house.

Bee2
Here's Sally with some of her gorgeous fabric postcards.

Bee1
And here's Sally displaying a sweet block, the pattern for which she found for free on the Sew, Mama, Sew blog.

Bee4
This pretty bird trim is on an in-progress bag that Sally is making.

Bee5
Martha shows us her fantastic floral quilt top.

Cyndi W. made this beautiful baptismal gown (photos above and below) for a friend. She used the fabric from the wedding gown of the baby's grandmother to make it.

Bee8
An "organic"  batiks quilt that Cyndi made for her son.

I'd love to stay and chat, but I'm still feeling right poorly, so I think I'll retire to the couch with my heating pad and a dog or two.

Such beautiful Show and Tell, your Bee girls are very productive. What a lovely heirloom to make the baptismal dress from the wedding dress. I'm going to share that idea with a friend who framed parts of her mother's wedding dress, she could use some of the leftover fabric/lace for a baptismal gown for her first grandchild. Maybe that is rushing it a bit, her daughter just got married.

The baptismal gown just blew me away! How wonderful to incorporate the family wedding dress into it. Gorgeous.

Am glad you're tucking yourself in and circling the wagons so you can feel better. Hope the doggies will snuggle in with you. Is Daisy still visiting?

The show and tell quilts are just wonderful and, as has been said, that baptismal gown is breathtaking. What a treasure it is and will be forevermore!

Hope you wake up feeling 100% better tomorrow, if not from a nap today.

Hugs!

Praying that you feel better. I LOVE that gown. What a wonderful idea and lovely keepsake. I wish I could still sew and I would do that with my mom's wedding dress.

I made christening gowns for 4 of my friends children. I loved making them. They were small enough to finish easily but I got to put all those pretty tucks and laces on them. But I didn't enjoy the french seams! :)
