Little Red Featherweight

287948969894615580_M0YKyAKj_c

Look what I saw on Sharon's Pinterest Board. I have a black featherweight that Vann bought for me years ago--and I love it. But who could resist this red one. I want one. Where do I get one? And will I have to mortgage the house to get it? Probably a pricey piece, don't you think?

Thanks a zillion for all the comments on Date Night. I get the feeling that several of you are hopeless romantics. I like that. I also like all the encouragement and support. I love y'all.

I have plans to go out with Pete again on Tuesday evening, as I told you. But I might have to ask for a rain check. Severe, tornadoey weather is forecast for tomorrow night, and I don't care to be out and about in storms. We'll see.

This is going to be a busy, busy week--date or no date. The fam is coming for Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday. So I'll be planning, shopping, and cooking for the rest of the week. And I hope to have Bentley Bear finished and sitting on my front porch to greet everyone. I found him a great scarf at the thrift store and can't wait to wrap it around his furry neck.

After church yesterday, I spent the afternoon with Andy. We shopped for her a Christmas tree and ornaments for her Little Yellow House. While at Lowe's, I sprung for a new dishwasher (guess that's my Christmas present). I've been putting off buying a new one for a couple of years now. I knew mine was on it's last leg. I'm glad I made the purchase when I did. When I got home and opened mine to put away the clean dishes, my top shelf fell out. It is now hanging in there very precariously. I don't think I'll risk running this dishwasher again. My new one should be delivered this week.

OK. I'm going to get to getting now.

What a beautiful red (my favorite color) Featherweight. Do you think the color is original to the machine, I love it. Good you got the dishwasher when you did, no one wants to wash all those thanksgiving dishes. Happy Thanksgiving to you and all you love.

I've never, ever seen a red Featherweight and it's so cute! No wonder it's flung a craving on you!

Hope the weather stays nice for date night #2!

Congratulations on your new dish washer! What color/finish did you choose? May there be no delay in its delivery. We got a $105 refund from Lowe's when our new washer/dryer wasn't delivered on time.

I look forward to seeing Bentley Bear and his new scarf. Meanwhile, happy sewing and happy Thanksgiving cooking. I'll be fixing my part of the dinner on Thanksgiving morning: sweet potato casserole and Mary Lou's corn pudding. Yum!

Hugs!

So glad you are going out again :)

Three HUGE cheers for red ANYTHING! I LOOOVE RED!!! I also love YOU, and it is so great to hear you sounding genuinely happy! Can't wait to see Bentley finished! And what's on your Thanksgiving menu? I need ALL new kitchen appliances but I DON'T need a dishwasher 'cause I never use them. My appliances are relatively new, yet they are what I jokingly call Chinese appliances. (My adorable landlady, Mei-Chin, is Chinese.) They are TINY. Really! The burners on the stove are SILLY small with only one semi-large burner for a wok. I don't USE a wok. Sigh. I also don't use those 3 hideously small burners. The fridge is awful. I'm sorry to report that ALL my bad language surfaces everytime I have to try & get something in the freezer. No ROOM for bigger appliances. So I'm STUCK. Anyway, I'm glad you got a new dishwasher! Hope the storms do not materialize & you can have your date Tuesday night! BIG HUGS!

You don't have to buy a little red featherweights ... you could decide to have yours painted. There were no original red featherweights (nor purple ones, nor British Racing Green ones). The only original colors are black, crackle black (the WW2 military version), "mint" (which is so light, it really looks white) and tan.

I have two featherweights and keep thinking about having one of them painted--just have to decide on a color ;-)

Hi Susan! Oh that bear will be sooo cute. You'll have to get him some cool sunglasses for a summer display! Maybe a beer in his hand? lol
Sophie is correct in that the Featherweights with color are painted. I bought a "white" one on eBay (long story with a happy ending) You can Goggle painted FWs, and there is an awesome guy who paints them. They "restoring" folks take everything off the FWs, and repaint them.
I once read a young lady's blog where she bought a FW really cheap, had a auto paint shop paint it!
Anyhoo, Happy Thanksgiving to you and Andy!

Tell Pete that is what you want for your Christmas. Tread slowly, and if it is meant to be, things will work out.

That is an awesome red machine!! Looks brand new.
I thought about you on your date night. Feels funny doesn't it...."dating."
I remember my first date after Dick passed away. It was 3 years when I received a phone call from an old high school beau.
We had a lot of fun together, but not a person to partner up with.
I now have a partner of 4 years. And we are blessed with being on the same page...most of the time!! hahaha
