Surprise Visit

Yesterday, my friend John H. brought his family for a visit. John has a brand new grandson, Jake, and the fam was out showing off this handsome guy. (Jake is the baby for whom I made the Slash a Stash quilt.) Here are some pics of the visit.

We're still on Ginny power here at The Yellow House. I'm beginning to believe Alabama Power has forgot about our neighborhood. Everybody else seems to have their power back on. I'm down to my last generator tank of gasoline. Guess I better go replenish the supply. Or better yet, I think I'll call Jesse and get him to do it for me. Before he left yesterday, John put air in Ginny's tires and oil in her, uh, oil receptacle.

Not feeling too pretty good today. The pain is back with a vengeance. I guess the respite wasn't due to the diet after all. I didn't sleep much last night because of painful back, legs, feet, hips, shoulders, arms, hands--well, you get the picture. When I did sleep, I had a dream about being at a Road to Emmaus weekend retreat with lots and lots of friends. I had brought not only Sophie and Skipper but also my beautiful turquoise parakeet (which I don't even have). It was time to leave and getting dark, and I couldn't get the parakeet to come down out of the trees. His name was apparently Birdie, since that what I kept calling to get him down. But he wouldn't obey me (just like Skipper).
I was very worried about Birdie.

What a cutie little Jake is! There is nothing that says "worry-free" like a sleeping baby! I know Caysee, Becky, and John are over the moon happy as they show him off.

Have you called Alabama Power to report your power outage or to get an update on repairs? Dominion VA Power depends on customer calls to know where outages are so they get an idea of how many are affected and can plan for repairs. I call as soon as the power has been out for 30 min. and report for us and for AMIL next door. Yes, it's an excellent idea to ask Jesse to refill your gas tanks. Hope your power is restored soon.

Interesting dream. Are you on the church ladies retreat committee? "The Road to Emmaus" sounds like a good title to me.

Sending feel better hugs!

That baby is adorable. I hate you are going through so much pain and problems all at once. Being without power is a real pain. I experience it real often, but not more than a day. I wish I understood why you dream things you do. I have them about events or someone, I have no clue as to who or wast it is about. Hang in there.

I'm sorry about your power situation. Or lack thereof. What a strange dream when you don't have a bird!

Wes told me the other night his dream that someone had stolen our cars seemed so real that he got up and looked in the garage just to make sure it was a dream.

Your dream sounds like someone I know that has strange dreams, sometimes sad, sometimes funny and sometimes just plain weird with everything all mixed up. This person always makes me listen to every detail. Maybe they think I can interpret them. I'm sorry this is a bad day for you. I hope you feel better tomorrow. Shannon

Beautiful baby.
All that hair....
It's time
Alabama to get your power back on. Glad you have Ginny but still what a pain. How are the temps there. Maybe that is what is stirring up your fibro. It is cool here but I am not turning the heat on when it was almost 100 (hot for us) just last week-end.
I laughed outloud about the bird.
Feel better.

Susan, I thought of you so much while I was in Oklahoma. I wondered how you fared on the 2nd, didn't KNOW about your young friend's death (I'm SO sorry!) and certainly didn't realize you were without power. I love you, I hope your power is restored SOON along with your good health, I hope Andy finds nothing less than pure JOY in her new home, and I think maybe 'Birdie' is that elusive Bluebird of Happiness, so I hope VERY much it returns to you QUICKLY! Hello to Ms. Sophie the Sweet & to Skipper who digs determinedly in pursuit of China! LOL!
