Rabbit, Rabbit!

Ws_rabbit_4_1024x768

Happy June, everyone.

Alabama Summer has already commenced here. Highs predicted in the mid to high 90s all week with no rain in sight. Staying-inside weather, as far as I'm concerned.

And yes, I've about given up on yard work. I had a very bad day yesterday. On the couch most of it. Late in the afternoon, I decided to get up and try to salvage the day. So I took the dogs for a short walk then came back and fertilized the new rose bushes out front and watered them. I can't even describe how just that little bit of activity hurt. But it did.

Andy got me the name and phone number of a lawn service who works for her landlord. I'm going to call them.

Today, I have a couple of packages to mail. So after a trip to the post office, I think it's going to be an inside day for me, not news that Skipper and Sophie will take well. I still have to sew a hanging sleeve onto the "Sugar & Spice" quilt to have it ready to deliver for quilt show hanging on Friday, along with "Flutterbugs" and "Bunnies in the Cabin." This coming weekend is the big quilt show. Looking forward to all the fun. And I'll take lots of photos too.

Bummer in the summer already? Hate the heat too! Have a wonderful time at the quilt show and buy lots of fabric! LOL!

Susan,
The heat is awful! You would think it was July or August here. I am staying in the house until about dark and then water my flowers.
I am coming to the show on Saturday morning. What time will you be there? I would love to meet you!
Hugs,
Donna

Same weather here and it's a bummer, for sure. Just being outside for a walk to the mailbox, AMIL's mailbox, AMIL's house (next door), and home just drained my energy almost completely.

My theory is that the seasons here in Virginia have started a month early for the last year. In 2010, we had spring flowers in early March, summer horrid heat for much of June, an early autumn, and snow 5 times beginning in early December. So far, this year seems on the same track. What do you think?

I still haven't wrestled the Single Irish Chain quilt to sew its binding on. Perhaps today?

Be good to you. It's lemonade time.

Hugs!

I'm with you, anything over mid-70s is too hot for me! Looking forward to sharing the quilt show with you!

Here, too—it was 93 on the sign down by the bank today! I'm going to have to get the alarm clock back out so I can get up at daylight to water my peppers and fill the feeders, then slink back inside and hide until evening. I predict lots of time spent reading in front of the fan for the next week or so, and salad for supper . . .

Have fun at the quilt show!

Oh, nuts, stay inside and read. I always look forward to your recommendations. I live in the Chicago area and the temps are in the the upper 80's. Hot for us. I'm wiped out and reading. My new favorite author is Martin Cruz Smith and the book I'm reading is "Wolves Eat Dogs" -- a mystery in Chernobyl.
