I've been trying really hard this year to avoid buying not only any more fabric, but also quilting magazines, which make me want to buy more fabric and start more quilts.
But last week I fell off the magazine wagon and bought this one. And, naturally, there's a quilt inside it's pages that I want so much to make. And here it is.
(Don't click on this photo unless you want to see Skipper hair all over my pink chair cushion. )
I even went into my sewing room and pulled fabrics from my stash that would look great for this quilt. I also cut four background squares for the chicken blocks. I know I should have been spending that time on a UFO or on binding and getting my last quilt-show quilt ready for the June 4-5 quilt show. But I didn't. So now I have one more UFO.
Speaking of UFOs, remember that tomorrow is UFO Progress Report Day. And if I don't get up and go do something, I won't have any progress to report. So I'm heading to the sewing room NOW!

Cute quilt!
I'm not a chicken person and will be selling my mother's almost 8 place settings (one bread plate broke long ago) of Metlox Red Rooster china from the 1960s. Should I not admit that in this group?!
I share your determination to finish UFOs and to use my stash, but I bought the current issue of Quilt Sample magazine. Sigh! One of my UFOs is from the 1999 issue (back when they published one issue a year).
Without delay I need to get moving or I'll have no UFO progress to report either.
Hugs!

You've already made such great progress on your UFOs... a lot better than most of us! You just have to make the rooster quilt; it fits your taste exactly! Go on, add it to your list of things to make! Can't wait to see it made up!

Love the " Chicken Quilt", I'm happy that you have a refreshing new project to work on. If you're using fabric from your stash that's almost as good as a UFO .
Not that we have to justify our creativity.

It is very hard for me to not look at the quilt books and drool. I know for someone that quilts or sews it would be even harder. There are some great patterns in this book.
