Just look what I got yesterday from my sweet Amy. She attended a tulip festival in Portland recently. She said that when she saw the cardinal plaque, she thought of me. She also sent me a beautiful handmade necklace, a postcard, and a stamped brown bag. A box full of treasures on a day when I really needed cheering.
Some personal issues have me worried and anxious about some family members that I love and at complete odds and angry with other family members that I love. Don't you just hate when that happens. All of this worry, anger, oddness, and stress have caused physical issues. Headache all night. Headache remains this morning, along with nausea. All these physical issues cause more stress. I've been caught in this cycle before, and I don't like it.
I have to go give myself a good talking to now--something about dwelling on the blessings and pushing the stresses to the back of my mind.

Oh so sorry to hear about stress with family..yucky stuff...prayers that things will settle down and you will be able to get a good night sleep...maybe a nap too:)
What helps me is a cup of tea, soothing music, reading Psalms, or if I cannot sit still then I start pulling weeds and digging the soil...if it is late at night I will get a crafty project out and finish it.
Love the plaque so sweet of your friend to send it to you.
You take care,
Kay Ellen

Don't you just love an unexpected, thoughtful surprise in the mail? Sorry it was followed by family strife. It is what it is, in my experience, but so hard to push out of your brain. There should be a magic wand to resolve the issues--or to bapp the participants over the head with! Try to get some good rest.
p.s. The Western route to China under our camper is growing as the ground 'un-freezes.' Send Skipper a.s.a.p. to join the expedition!!

What a delightful surprise! The cardinal plaque is beautiful! That is one of my favorite sayings! (i use it on my blog for my friend list) It is hard not to get caught up in family drama from time to time... I try to remind myself that I can only control me and my actions and my thoughts, not others or their actions or thoughts.

Amy was listening to the music of the spheres when she found this plaque and when to mail it so it arrived at the perfect time for you. It is just wonderful!
I'm so sorry that folks are being difficult and hope each situation is quickly resolved in good and harmless ways. Hope you can circle the wagons and perhaps invite some friends over to play.
Big hugs!

Three HUGE cheers for Amy! What a lovely surprise. But I think you were SUPPOSED to receive something nice because you NEEDED it! 'Grrrrr' to the folks giving you grief! Like you, I understand how grief or stress can cause strong physical symptoms! I wish I were there to do things for you and wait on you and make you laugh with my ridiculous face! I LOVE YOU, Susan!

Go to Pioneer Woman's blog. Today on her Home and Garden tab she has a tutitorial about lowering your stress through breathing. You never know it could help and it won't hurt you.

It is perfect for you, and very thoughtful of Amy.
There is nothing like giving ourselves a talking to. When I get like that I always sing "Have A Little Talk With Jesus", and it helps me refocus.
Hang in there, dear friend.

I am sorry that you are dealing with family drama, I myself have a very short fuse with it. Hope that everything can resolve itself so you feel better soon.

That's sweet. I hope you're able to get out of your funk soon. That's no fun. Know that you have lots of friends sending you emotional energy!

Glad you had a nice mailbox surprise. It does help when you are having a rough day. Isn't it awesome when God does that for you? I understand the family problems. Sometimes I feel like I need to hide out in a cabin in the mountains to get away for all the drama! But, in the end, I still love them all!
Hugs from Indiana
