I saw this on Facebook and couldn't wait to share it with you all. I think it's one of the most stunning quilts I've ever seen.
This art quilt, "Kitty Corner," was created by Janet Fogg. She says it "is a literal interpretation of the traditional quilt block Puss In The Corner. By setting the colorful blocks on point with alternating black squares a dark stage is set for the kitty to appear from the corner ready to pounce on the spiralling quilted feathers. This quilt is almost entirely machine pieced with some minimal applique for the floating squares in the border."
Some of you might have seen it before at some of the shows where it was awarded the following prizes:
2006 MQS 1st Place Art/Pictorial and Viewer's Choice
2006 APNQ Best of Show
2006 Houston Quilt Festival 1st Place Innovative Pieced and Viewer's Choice
2007 Road to California Viewer's Choice
2007 MQX 3rd Place Art/Pictorial
2007 AQS Nashville 1st Place Quilter's Choice
2008 MAQF 1st Place Innovative
I had never seen it and just had to share.
Happy Memorial Day to everyone

WOW! What an amazing quilt and it's certainly no wonder it has garnered so many wonderful awards for its maker. It is difficult to imagine how it could have been mostly machine made. Well done, Janet Fogg!!
One of the few things I miss about leaving TX is that I no longer get to go to the Houston Quilt Show.
Thanks for sharing this astonishing quilt with us.
Hugs!

O my, so glad I have lived to see something like this. This is an unbelievable quilt. It should win all awards.

This quilt is truly amazing, and I was lucky enough to see it in person at the Road to California show (my very favorite quilt show of the year!). I don't know the dimensions, but it is much larger than I thought it would be. Janet Fogg is so talented, and she also won the contest through Jo-Ann's, Quilt Your Colors, that was held recently.

That is absolutely amazing! I can't even imagine having the skill to make such a beautiful piece. I am going to be wowing it ALL day. (doesn't hurt that the cute kitty is identical to my old man kitty, who hangs about looking regal)
